A new poll reports that a majority of Americans think that "things are out of control" in the United States.

Fox News reports that an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll asked voters their honest opinion about how the country is moving forward. Eighty percent of participants chose "out of control," while 15% said the country is "under control."

In the final year of Donald Trump's first term, the president has handled the response to the global coronavirus pandemic as well as protests following the death of George Floyd in police custody.

The poll consisted of several topics that asked how Trump handled the current crises.

In regards to the economy, the poll showed that 46% of voters believed the current state of the economy was weak.

Fifty-nine percent of voters expressed that they were more concerned with police actions following Floyd's death than with the "protests that have turned violent." The latter was a concern for only 27% of voters.

A question within the poll asked voters "if the presidential election was held today," who would vote for president in November. Of the number of voters, 49% chose former vice president, Joe Biden, versus 42% that would vote for Donald Trump. Nine percent of individuals polled were unsure which candidate they would prefer.

The NBC News/WSJ poll surveyed 1,000 registered voters.
