Watch BLACKPINK get emotional watching the trailer for their Netflix film

'How you like that?' We like that very much

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Netflix for deciding to not only release the trailer for BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky, but to also put together a reaction video featuring the K-pop princesses watching the trailer together for the very first time. After watching the ladies’ reactions to the documentary, which arrives on Netflix on October 14, we’re letting you know now, be prepared for them to more than just light up the sky, but to also warm up your hearts.

The clip itself shows a mixture of archive footage of the girls as what they refer to as “trainees,” in addition to more recent interviews and clips, including footage of concerts and recording sessions.

Watching a compilation of everything they’ve experienced up until that point got the girls in their feels, laughing, exclaiming and loving every minute of it. Rosé even said that rather than a documentary film, “for me it kind of feels like a home video, it’s like a family home video that we’ve put together and watching.”

At one point in the video, the band members unanimously admit to being interested in the fan reactions, with Jennie saying, “I’m curious to see ourselves through other people’s eyes.” Followed by Lisa adding “they might think we’re weird kids,” to which Jisoo jokingly responded, “but that’s us, please accept us.”

Netflix describes the documentary as, “a personal look at the four members of BLACKPINK, from their years as trainees to their current global success as the most popular K-pop girl group of all time.”

Which s exactly what Jisoo hopes for it to be, an opportunity for them to be seen in their “natural state, instead of the perfect dream image we usually present.” A “more genuine look at our early training and us recording together, and basically a deeper look at all of us.”
