THRIVE Peninsula

December 11, 2018

Every day, thousands of Virginia Peninsula residents endure financial hardship- struggling to survive. THRIVE Peninsula is a faith-based 501c-3 non-profit that provides a vital safety net along with practical tools to overcome their situation and thrive!

Among its services are 1-on-1 financial coaching, emergency rent and utility assistance, food pantry services, transportation aid and more. All individuals and families who receive financial relief sit a financial coach who will help them build their personal household budget and provide other relevant financial tools to help them on their journey.

In April 2018 the Eviction Lab found that Hampton and Newport News cities had the 3rd and 4th highest evictions rates in the country. THRIVE receives thousands of calls each year from local residents who are behind on their rent and are afraid they will lose the roof over their head. The organization is seeking donations to its Emergency Family Fund that will provide relief directly to local families to prevent impending eviction.
